In 1986, the Philippines regain the Asian Basketball Confederation (ABC) Cage title that we last won in 1973, our nationals beat Jordan, 81-70, Pakistan, 100-51, and Japan, 87-70, in the preliminaries.
In the final round, the RP Nationals beat South Korea, 76-72, host Malaysia, 75-65, and China, 82-72, to win the championship.
