FEU Tamaraws win the UAAP crown, defeating the defending champions UE Warriors.



The Ateneo Blue Eagles captured the NCAA championship, scoring a 2-0 sweep in their best-of-three finals series against the Mapua Cardinals.

June 3, 1959: Philippine Airlines upsets Crispa, 88-79.


June 17, 1959: Yco Painters rout Philippine Airlines, 101-70.


June 24, 1959: Yco Painters rip 7-Up Marauders, 101-78.



The Philippines' ABC cage title in 1960 and 1963


FIBA-Asia, then known as Asian Basketball Confederation (ABC)

Held in Manila, the Philippines beat China, 99-78, at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum for their first ABC championship.



In Taipei, the Philippine men's national team retains the ABC crown by repeating over China, Our basketball team will go on to win three more ABC titles in 1967, 1973 and 1986.
