Paul Jordan: Once a top amateur ballclub



In the elimination round of the National Seniors tournament, Paul Jordan defeated Congrete Aggregates, 112-95; Maisan, 102-82; Zest-O, 84-77; Philippine Constabulary, 114-97; and Talon Zipper, 88-83.

In the semifinal round which also ran the National Invitational with the entry of the visiting Milo Swiss, along with Talon and Group A qualifiers Masagana 99 and Arellano University, Paul Jordan went on to toppled Milo Swiss, 100-98; Talon, 91-88; Masagana, 108-94; and Arellano, 115-103.

Paul Jordan eventually won the 1982 Regular Interclub basketball crown with an 85-83 victory over Express Truckers in the deciding third game of the best-of-three title series.

Trivia on Big J: Toyota's last PBA game and the disbandment in early 1984


Tanduay beat Toyota in a playoff, 111-110 on October 30, 1983, as they eliminate the Super Corollas from the quarterfinals berth. It turn out to be Toyota's last game in the PBA.



Toyota management called for a meeting to discuss the possible disbandment of the ballclub in the next season.



Toyota sold its franchise to Asia Brewery, Inc, which will carry the name Beer Hausen. Toyota superstars Robert Jaworski and Francis Arnaiz has opted to play for Gilbey's Gin.

Triple-V Foodmasters' 1st PBL title in 1991



In only their second tournament in the 1991 season, the Triple-V captures the Philippine Basketball League (PBL) Challenge Cup title, defeating the defending champion Crispa 400s.
