Presto Tivolis' 6th and last PBA championship



Presto Tivoli won the 1990 PBA All-Filipino Conference crown in a classic seven-game series.



Purefoods in a heartbreak fourth runner-up finish after losing to Presto in the deciding Game 7 despite the Tivolis playing without their top scorer Allan Caidic.

1989 SMB finals results (newspaper clips)



Game four and Game five of the 1989 Open finals between San Miguel Beer and Formula Shell. The beermen clinch the title with a 123-105 victory.



Game four and Game five of the 1989 Reinforced Conference finals between San Miguel Beer and Anejo Rum 65. The beermen win the grandslam and a season sweep, defeating the Rum Masters, 122-111, for a 4-1 series victory.

La Salle Green Archers in the 80s: Post-NCAA, Pre-UAAP


In December 1981, La Salle wins the Interclub title by defeating Masagana 99.


The Green Archers became the PABL's very first champion in the league's dry-run in 1983. La Salle also won the National Seniors crown in April of that same year.

1992 PBL Invitational Cup opening


The PBL Third Conference called Invitational Cup opens on October 24, 1992. This marks the end of the Crispa ballclub in Philippine basketball as the team disbanded after two conferences of the 1991-92 season.

Two other teams; A&W and RC Cola, also disbanded their franchise. They were replaced by new teams considered as guest squads, Serg's Candies and JCT-Evertex.

1976 Double NCAA champions Ateneo Blue Eagles



Ateneo scored a 2-0 sweep over San Beda to win the NCAA senior's crown.


Steve Watson of Ateneo was chosen as the Most Valuable Player of the '76 NCAA season. Watson led in individual scoring with an average of 21.5 points per game in 11 games. Following at second is Henry Brodett of La Salle (20.9 ppg in 13 games) and at third is Angelito Ladores of Jose Rizal College (20.0 ppg in 9 games).

The first Purefoods vs Alaska finals series in 1990


Purefoods Hotdogs wins their first PBA championship in the 1990 Third Conference.



Alaska was up, 2-0, in the best of five title series and a win away from their first PBA title, but the Hotdogs came back to win the final three games as Purefoods coach Baby Dalupan duplicate the same feat he first did back in 1976 with the Crispa Redmanizers.

Yutivo wins the 1960 Businessmen Athletic Association (BAA) crown at the expense of U-Tex Spinners.


Kai Ming Press wins the BAA crown in the following year as U/tex finished runner-up again.
