The 67th NCAA season opens on August 3, 1991. The year adopted a theme "Sports for National Unity." Senator Rene Saguisag was the guest of honor.

Toyota Comets beat Concepcion Motorolas, 81-75 in Game 3, to win their first MICAA crown in their maiden tournament.

The Motorolas won Game two, 73-72, to force a deciding third game of the best-of-three title series.
