The M-99 would join the new league PABL in 1983. From 1984-1986, the Rice Growers were National Seniors champions.

1949 Classic: Mapua's 1st NCAA seniors crown



 
The Cardinals finally became NCAA champions in 1949, defeating the Heavy Bombers of Jose Rizal College, 45-43.

Ysmael Steel ended Yco Painters' seven-year reign as National Open champions. The date is misprint, the year is 1961.

MICAA '81 basketball tournament


Team Rosters


Results of the first round of eliminations in January 1981. The team standings after the first round are Crispa (6-1), San Miguel, Apcor and Bax Jeans (5-2), St.George Whisky (3-4), Filsyn (2-5), Solidenims and Presto (1-6).


MICAA action


The second and final tournament of the MICAA.

Solidenims and St.George Whisky have disbanded. The team standings after the two-round eliminations are Apcor (9-3), newcomer Jag Jeans (7-5), Presto (7-5), Crispa (6-6), Bax Jeans (5-7), Filsyn (5-7) and San Miguel (3-9).

Ray Obias of Jag has the highest scoring average in the eliminations, followed by Rudy Distrito of Crispa Walk Tall and Adonis Tierra of Filsyn.

Apcor won the last MICAA championship, defeating Jag Jeans, 2-0, in the best-of-three finals.
